Hi @idasiet
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Method 1: Using HP Printer Software
- Open your document (e.g., in Microsoft Word or any design software) with the two 5x8 cards.
- Go to File > Print.
- Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 as the printer.
- Click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
- Look for a setting called Page Layout, Multiple Pages, or Layout (this may vary by program).
- In Multiple Pages or Layout, choose 2 Pages per Sheet or a similar option.
- Set the Paper Size to 8.5 x 11 (Letter).
- Adjust the Page Order if necessary to align the cards properly.
- Click OK to confirm and then click Print.
Method 2: Using Microsoft Word
If you're using Microsoft Word and want to manually layout two 5x8 cards on one 8.5x11 page:
- Open Word and create a new document.
- Go to Page Layout > Size and select 8.5 x 11.
- Go to Insert > Text Box and draw a 5x8 text box.
- Copy and paste the text box to create a second one. Adjust the boxes so they fit side by side on the 8.5x11 page.
- Add your content to the two 5x8 text boxes.
- Go to File > Print and select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 printer.
- Click on Printer Properties to confirm settings.
- Print the document.
Method 3: Using Adobe Acrobat (if you have a PDF)
If you have the card design as a PDF:
- Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Go to File > Print.
- Under Page Size & Handling, select Multiple.
- In the Pages per sheet dropdown, select 2.
- Ensure that Size is set to Actual Size.
- Click Print.
Refer to user manual: click here
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
-Regards
