Hi @idasiet

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Method 1: Using HP Printer Software

  1. Open your document (e.g., in Microsoft Word or any design software) with the two 5x8 cards.
  2. Go to File > Print.
  3. Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 as the printer.
  4. Click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
  5. Look for a setting called Page Layout, Multiple Pages, or Layout (this may vary by program).
  6. In Multiple Pages or Layout, choose 2 Pages per Sheet or a similar option.
  7. Set the Paper Size to 8.5 x 11 (Letter).
  8. Adjust the Page Order if necessary to align the cards properly.
  9. Click OK to confirm and then click Print.

Method 2: Using Microsoft Word

If you're using Microsoft Word and want to manually layout two 5x8 cards on one 8.5x11 page:

  1. Open Word and create a new document.
  2. Go to Page Layout > Size and select 8.5 x 11.
  3. Go to Insert > Text Box and draw a 5x8 text box.
  4. Copy and paste the text box to create a second one. Adjust the boxes so they fit side by side on the 8.5x11 page.
  5. Add your content to the two 5x8 text boxes.
  6. Go to File > Print and select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 printer.
  7. Click on Printer Properties to confirm settings.
  8. Print the document.

Method 3: Using Adobe Acrobat (if you have a PDF)

If you have the card design as a PDF:

  1. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  2. Go to File > Print.
  3. Under Page Size & Handling, select Multiple.
  4. In the Pages per sheet dropdown, select 2.
  5. Ensure that Size is set to Actual Size.
  6. Click Print.

Refer to user manual: click here

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
