My HP 6978 boots up with error code 0x610004a and I can't get any further.

The scanner function  appears to work but no print capability.  This seems to have started after a firmware update.  I have tried all of the suggested ways to reset with no improvement.  In the process I noted that the ink carriage is stuck on the right side and cannot be moved (there are no apparent obstructions).

If you have already performed the steps from the document  '0xc19a0005' or Similar Error Code Displays and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
