Hi @happyno,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e All-in-One Printer doesn’t work properly with your Mac, especially when you expect seamless compatibility. Let’s walk through the most effective steps to get things working again.

Troubleshooting HP OfficeJet 8020e Printer Issues on macOS

1. Check macOS Compatibility

Make sure your Mac is running macOS 10.14 or later, which is required for full compatibility with HP Smart and HP drivers.

2. Use the HP App

3. Enable Web Services

HP Instant Ink and cloud features require Web Services:

  • On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Settings > Web Services
  • Turn Web Services on
  • If already on, turn it off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on

4. Run HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

HP has a built-in tool in the HP app for Mac that can fix common issues:

  • Open the HP app
  • Click your printer > Diagnose & Fix
  • Follow the on-screen instructions

🔗 Use Diagnose & Fix in the HP app to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
