Hi @Jsfulbright,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing a technical issue with your HP 8720 printer, and the blue screen with a power symbol and C9C70000 error message is appearing. This error code is not a standard HP printer error code, and it might require specific troubleshooting steps.

Here are some general steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for a few minutes. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer to see if the issue persists.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP official website. Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the firmware.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a factory reset on the printer. Be aware that this will erase any custom settings you may have configured. The steps for a factory reset can vary, so refer to your printer's manual or HP's support documentation.
  • Check for Hardware Issues: Inspect the printer for any visible hardware issues such as paper jams, loose cables, or damaged parts. Make sure that all connections are secure.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
