My HP deskjet 4258e does not give me a choice to print in color.  How do I fix?

If your HP DeskJet 4258e isn't giving you the option to print in color, it's often due to a driver or settings issue. Here's how you can fix it:

For Windows:

  1. Go to "Printers & Scanners"
    • Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners
    • Select your HP DeskJet 4258e > click Manage > then Printing Preferences.
       
  2. Check Color Settings:
    • In the Printing Preferences window, look for a Color or Advanced tab.
    • Make sure "Print in Grayscale" is unchecked
    • Ensure "Color" or "Automatic" is selected for output.
       
  3. Apply & Save:
    • Click Apply and then OK to save changes.


For MacOS:

  1. Open the Print Dialogue:
    • When printing, click File > Print from any app.
       
  2. Click "Show Details" (if available)
    • Then expand the print settings and select the Color Options or Quality section.
       
  3. Choose Color:
    • Make sure Color is selected instead of Black & White or Grayscale.
