HP ENVY 6052 All-In-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I updated a new router, Ignite wifi gateway (gen 3 modem). Then the printer in the setting shows the direct-74-hp envy 6000 series driver is unavailable. Could you tell me what I can do? Thanks

Hi @Coquitlam2024,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

After updating to a new Ignite Wi-Fi Gateway (Gen 3) router, your printer is showing the Direct-74-hp envy 6000 series driver as unavailable. This can feel like your devices aren’t speaking the same language anymore. Let’s walk through a sensory-rich solution to reconnect your HP ENVY 6052 All-In-One Printer to your new network.

1. Reconnect the Printer to the New Wi-Fi Network

  • Start by gently pressing the Wi-Fi button on your printer’s control panel (feel the slight give as you press). It may have a small light that starts to blink, signaling that it's ready to connect.
  • Press and hold the WPS button on your new router until it starts flashing (a moment of quiet expectation as the two devices try to connect). Within a minute or two, you should hear or see signs of success—like the lights on the printer turning steady.

2. Remove and Reinstall the Printer Driver

  • On your computer, click through the settings, feeling each click as you navigate to Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Find your HP ENVY 6052 and click Remove device. It’s like clearing a messy slate to start fresh.
  • Download the latest driver from the HP website, feeling the smooth scrolling of your mouse as you locate your printer model and click Download. Install the new driver, imagining it syncing perfectly with the new Wi-Fi network.

3. Use the HP Smart App for Reconfiguration

  • Open the HP Smart app and tap through the steps. Feel the excitement as the app guides you through connecting the printer to the new Wi-Fi.
  • The app will search for printers; once it finds your HP ENVY 6052, feel the small moment of satisfaction as you tap Add Printer.
  • Follow the prompts to set up the Wi-Fi connection again. You’ll sense the progress as the app shows that the printer and router are now speaking the same language.

4. Manually Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • Press the power button (feel its firm click), then press the Wireless button and Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
  • As the network settings reset, feel a sense of refresh, like rebooting your connection entirely. Wait for the wireless light to blink, signaling that it’s ready to be reconfigured.

5. Test the Connection

  • Once everything is reconnected, tap your fingers lightly across your keyboard as you send a test print. Listen for the quiet hum of the printer warming up, the familiar whirr as it pulls the paper, and the satisfying sound of the test page being printed.

If all goes smoothly, your printer should now be fully integrated with your new Wi-Fi network. Let me know how the connection feels after these steps, and if the driver is still unavailable!

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
