Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like the issue might be specific to how Microsoft Publisher is handling your print settings.
Here are some steps to resolve this and get your HP Envy 6552e to print in landscape mode from Publisher:
1. Verify Page Setup in Publisher
- Open the document in Microsoft Publisher.
- Go to File > Page Setup or Page Design > Orientation and ensure that the orientation is set to Landscape.
- Double-check that both the publication and the print settings match.
2. Check Print Settings in Publisher
- Go to File > Print.
- In the Print pane, select your printer and then click Printer Properties or Settings.
- Confirm that the orientation is explicitly set to Landscape in the printer properties window.
- Ensure that Publisher isn’t overriding the printer's default settings with a conflicting orientation.
3. Update Printer Drivers
- Outdated printer drivers might cause formatting issues in specific applications.
- Visit the HP Support website and locate the latest driver for your HP Envy 6552e.
- Install the updated driver and restart your computer.
- Test printing from Publisher again.
4. Adjust Advanced Printing Settings
- In Publisher, go to Print > Printer Properties.
- Look for an Advanced tab or similar options in your printer settings.
- Ensure any "Auto Rotate" or "Fit to Page" settings are disabled, as they might force the document into portrait mode.
5. Export to PDF and Print
As a workaround, you can export your Publisher document to a PDF and then print the PDF in landscape mode:
- In Publisher, go to File > Export > Create PDF/XPS Document.
- Save the file and open it in a PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat or Edge browser).
- Print from the PDF viewer and select Landscape mode.
6. Repair or Reinstall Microsoft Publisher
- If the issue persists, it’s possible that Publisher has a corrupted configuration. To fix it:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Microsoft 365 > Modify and choose Repair.
- After the repair, reopen Publisher and try printing again.
