Hi @pymf,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a "No driver available" issue with your HP LaserJet 1200 series printer on Windows 11, there are a few steps you can try.

Check Compatibility

The HP LaserJet 1200 is quite old and may not have dedicated drivers for Windows 11. Verify if there is any legacy support from HP or if Windows 11 can work with older drivers.

Install Generic Driver

You can use a generic PCL driver for HP printers:

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer.
  • Select "The printer that I want isn’t listed."
  • Choose "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings."
  • Select the appropriate port (usually "LPT1").
  • Choose "HP" from the list of manufacturers and then "HP LaserJet Series."
  • Select a compatible model (like HP LaserJet 4000 or HP LaserJet 8000) from the list if the exact model isn't available.

Update Windows

Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date as updates might include drivers or compatibility fixes.

Run Compatibility Troubleshooter

  • Right-click on the setup file of the driver you downloaded (if you have an older version).
  • Select "Properties."
  • Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
  • Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select an older version of Windows (like Windows 7 or Windows 10).

Use Windows Update

Sometimes, Windows Update can find and install drivers automatically:

  • Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Check for updates and install any that are available.

Download from HP Support

Double-check the HP website for any updated drivers or additional support information for older printers. Sometimes, HP may offer drivers or solutions for older models even if they are not prominently listed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
