We have a HP M602 printer that had a 99.09.67 error. The technician came out and replaced the solid state module and memory and maybe even the hard drive. Now our page count went from an increase of 12,000 one month to an increase of 480,000. I am wondering if anything he replaced might have had an old page count from another printer if it had been a used part? Does anyone know if this could happen and if so, how I could check?
Thank you

That sounds like they replaced the formatter, which would change the page count. Not being the tech that worked on it I cannot say why so many parts were replaced to resolve the error, as in most cases only replacing the hard drive resolves 99 errors. But now you know why the count is off. The serial number at least should have been edited to reflect the correct one. Curious if the company you hired to do the work was HP certified or not.

Replacing the drive would not affect page count which is stored in permanent memory built into the pcs boards of the printer. Print the usage page from the reports menu and check the page count there.
