Welcome to the HP English Community --
Agreed - "Tiny Typing" is not ideal.
If your printer is on your network -
Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view / adjust Tray and Paper Settings and Default Print Options
If you cannot convince your browser to let you through to the EWS webpage, use a different browser.
EWS > HP Document / How-to (InkJet Printers – Original Format)
Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
"New" EWS Format - Select newer InkJet printers and some Laser printers, too
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Section Paper > Trays > click on Tray to configure
Next (in addition and as available)
Section Print > Default Print Options > Select default options / tray
EWS_9135_Tray_and_Paper_6
EWS_9135_Print_Default_Print_Options_6

Hello Dragon-Fur
Great and helpful response.
It worked and now can access the printer details from my browser.
However, you cannot create a present for a specific printing configuration (that I could find) so you have to manually do it every time if you want to print an envelope.
Hopefully I am wrong about this . . . but I believe I am right.

You are welcome.
Answered, then.
Presets are available -- or Not -- depending on your Operating System / version and the tools in that environment.
True -- HP Smart, by itself, does not understand the concept of Presets.
HP Smart Shortcuts can be used for some types of "Preset" tasks.
I think that is not what you are seeking in this case (printing envelopes).
Windows offers the most versatile and robust task environment -
"Presets" and / or Custom Shortcuts can be created for a variety of tasks.
Even so, Yes - there are situations when you must select the Source / Tray during the job configuration.
There are situations where the type of automation you want is not available.
Some of what you can do depends on your OS - some of it depends on the printer -- and some settings depends on the tools / apps / software you are using.
The following is likely review -- Ignore if not relevant or not needed.
Install the Full Driver printer software when using / expecting to access the HP Driver and the full range of printer features.
NOTE
When called from within printing programs / software / applications, Printing Preferences might be called "Printer Properties" / "Shortcuts" / “More Settings” / “Properties” / "Printer Setup" / "Presets" or similar.
One of the options to look out for is the selection of the tray to use for the current job / task.
For example, selecting the Source / Tray in the job configuration as opposed to leaving the Source as "Auto" might help ensure that the envelopes in the specific tray are selected and used.
For example,
Printing Preferences can be set to prefer certain settings.
Open Printing Preferences
Tab Printing Shortcut
Select one of the templates, for example General Everyday Printing
Open Tab Paper / Quality
Change the Paper Source to the Tray where your envelopes are loaded
In the case of the sample printer (9135e), envelopes are stored in "Main Tray"
Open Advanced
Select the Paper Size
In the case of the the sample, Envelope #10
Click OK to accept the paper size and leave "Advanced"
Return to Tab Printing Shortcut
In the Printing Shortcuts list, Scroll down
Click on "newly" created "User Specified Print Settings" to open the name.
Type in a new name for this new Custom Shortcut.
Click OK / Apply to save your Printing Preferences changes.
Exit Printing Preferences to "set" the new shortcut into place.
General Sample - Newly created Custom Shortcut for Envelopes
The new custom envelope Shortcut can now be selected when you are configuring your next envelope job.
When selected, a shortcut will remain "preferred" until it is changed, perhaps during the next job.
If / When you want a Shortcut / Template to be pre-selected as the Default for all jobs,
Set the preference in Printer Properties > Advanced > Printing Defaults
The first example illustrates creating a different Custom Shortcut.
The process is similar to the instructions above with a couple of exceptions:
- In the case of the example, it was not necessary (or desirable) to change the Paper Source (Tray) in Tab Paper / Quality
- In the example, it is not necessary (or desirable) to change the paper size in Tab Paper / Quality OR Layout > Advanced
Example - Printing Preferences - Custom Shortcut
9135_Printing_Preferences_Everyday_Custom_2
Printer Properties - Driver Selection and "Printing Defaults" (for all jobs)
Printer_Properties_9135_4
General Example - Word > Mailings > Envelopes
Set your Printing Preferences to either your Custom Shortcut for your envelope OR General Everyday Printing.
Regardless, to avoid unwanted surprises, select the Tray in Printing Options > Feed From
Rabbits_and_Chickens_Test_Envelope_10_16

Hello Dragon Fur:
You are an HP sensai.
In Mac OS Sequoia, the HP Webserver and native print options are nothing like what you have shared for Windows.
In the HP Smart App, it has NOTHING at all. There are presets but they are for useless things :
In the Web Server it offers slightly more controls but no presets what so ever. It is easier to at least choose to print an envelope, but then you need to switch it back to letter paper.
So, a little progress, but HP designers and engineers have taken all of this as edge case examples so I am left with manual work arounds.

You are welcome -- and thank you.
Unfortunately, what I know about MacOS fits in a thimble with room for tea.
Forgive - an old Dragon's saying.
True - HP Smart, regardless of the OS, is not well versed in the concept of Presets.
Should I run across anything useful, I'll post it back.
