Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer.  I downloaded the latest webpack installation software.  The printer function works fine but now there is no scan function when I open the printer.  The printer assistant was up after the install, but when I rebooted my computer (as recommended) there is no hp printer assistant screen that appears, which means I have no way from my laptop to scan documents.  When I click on the printer icon, all that comes up is the normal printer functions.  Print and Scan doctor says no issues with printer or scanner. How to I find the printer assistant popup/dashboard and keep it available when needed.
