@TonyLou

I think I do not understand part of your question - the original CD for XP cannot be expected to install software for Windows 8.1 OS.

I can offer limited help on the subject...

The following Full Feature Software might work for you...

  • Package: AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_140_408-5
  • Program set: Full Feature Software
  • Connection type: network
  • Operating System(s): Windows 8.x > Windows 10

Full Feature Software V14.0.304.5 W8-W10

If the software does not work, you can look for the print-only Windows print drivers.

Driver for Windows 8.x through Windows 10

  • Installation package(s) will likely save to Downloads folder

  • If you have ‘Admin’ control, highlight the downloaded package and “Double-Click” to install, else Right-Click, select run as Administrator, and follow the installation instructions.

  • USB Connections:  Disconnect the cable before you install the printer software.  Connect the USB cable when instructed (during the latter part of the installation procedure).  Follow on screen instructions.

Cannot Connect?

  • Configure the Firewall to allow a connection
  • Consider replacing USB cable or Ethernet cable
