Hi @barbcroc,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with the HP Smart app displaying a blank screen while trying to set up your HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer on a new HP computer with Windows 11. Here's a list of troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check for Updates

  • Ensure both Windows 11 and the HP Smart app are fully updated. Go to the Microsoft Store and check for any updates for HP Smart.
  • Also, update your printer's firmware through the HP support website.

2. Restart the Computer and Printer

  • Restart both your computer and printer to ensure there are no temporary connectivity issues.

3. Reinstall HP Smart App

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app by right-clicking on the Start menu, selecting Apps, then choosing HP Smart and selecting Uninstall.
  • Reinstall the app from the Microsoft Store: search for “HP Smart” and install the latest version.

4. Clear Cache and Data

  • Sometimes clearing app data can help:
    1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
    2. Go to Apps > Installed apps.
    3. Find HP Smart, select it, and click on Advanced options.
    4. Under Reset, click on Reset. This will clear all app data and reset the app to its default state.

5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. It can help resolve connectivity issues and diagnose problems with the printer and app.

6. Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings

  • Some security software or firewalls might block the app's functionality. Temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus software to see if the app loads correctly.

7. Connect Printer to WiFi

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the WiFi network. You can do this by pressing the Wireless button on the printer to print the network configuration page or manually connecting the printer via the printer's control panel.

8. Try Using HP Smart via Browser

  • If the app is still not working, try accessing the HP Smart web portal at HP Smart on the Web to set up your printer.

Let me know if any of these steps help, or if the issue persists!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
