Help please! My son just started going to Pratt Art School in Brooklyn, and many of his assignments require nice prints. I ordered him a hp smart tank 7000 printer thinking this would be a good way to go, as it has a 2 year supply of ink (we'll see about that).
So I figured he'd be able to set it up in a few minutes, and he'd be able to print out all his assignments, and get caught up. We'll now over 8 hours into trying to set this up with him over the phone and Facetime, and when he goes into the smart app on his computer and tries to find the printer, it shows up in the app, but when it takes him to the System Preferences window on his mac, it doesn't show up. He can print sometimes from the app, but can't adjust size or scale of what he's printing in that app, which he should be able to do if he was printing from his computer (if the printer showed up in the Printers and Scanners window in System Preferences). This has been really frustrating, especially since this was a $450 printer, and it's not working. Why can't it just work? I'm about to have him put it back in the box and send it back, and I'm going to give this printer a scathing review unless I can get someone to help us out. There's nobody to call, nobody at a help desk other than bots that don't do squat....this is rediculous.
Anyone who knows anything about what I'm talking about, please, please, help with a solution. It would be much appreciated....
