Your free phone number in the box of a new wireless printer to help set it up goes to a company called geek tech care and also they charged me 199.99 to set up the printer. Also they asked for control of my computer to put on the ho drivers. I found out that ho doesn’t charge to set up a new wireless printer and reported it. They said there is nothing they can do about this. This will be the last time I will ever buy a home printer.

I am sorry you were trapped.
As you have discovered since, HP does not post support phone numbers on the web.
In so much that I am aware, pieces of paper inside "new-in-box" HP printers should not include HP phone numbers.
Certainly I don't know what was in the box with your printer.
I have forwarded your concerns to our Moderator team for consideration.
What else?
What if the paper directs customer not to a phone number but instead to the HP 123 support website?
It is true, that if the specific directions to the exact HP support website are not typed exactly right, you can end up almost anywhere --
Many times, "anywhere" will be a scam site -- there are many of these, so many.
The rats at these sites are clever in their search for victims.
Dragon Opinion
Contact you bank and report that you are the victim of a fraudulent charge.
When you let the thieves into your computer, consider they will march all over the file system and find anything not protected by encryption. This includes all personal documents, pictures, unprotected social media account information, unprotected medical records, tax documents, possibly data in email accounts, "all your stuff".
What the thieves do with "your stuff" depends on what they find and the extent of their depravity.
Not all thieves are monsters - all thieves are rats.
At the least, change all your passwords and make that call to your bank.
Beware of Fake Sites
The "Real Deal"
123.hp.com - Printer setup from the HP® Official site
The official HP 123 site is where you can find the appropriate (and free) software and drivers for your printer.
There are many “fake” sites listed (in search engines) for “123” – please make sure you are using the actual “HP” site.
If you are asked for money to correct "issues" on your printer or computer OR if the “help” wants to log into your computer, you are using a “fake” site. Do not give these people your information!

The paper in the box of the new printer says HP conceirge number for setting up new printer along with free ink for 6 months. The phone was answered by a guy named Steve. He is the one that transferred me to techmacwin and to geektechcare
i have the info printed out and sent it to Ho escalation dept and they said basically too bad you were scammed. Well it’s your people who are the scammers because that’s your phone number in the box.

Can you post a picture of that piece of paper. That almost sounds like something the seller placed in the box and not HP.

Understood.
The whole thing is unfortunate - I am sorry it happened.
I have done what can be done on this side -- I've notified our Moderator team.
Should there be a response, look for the agent to respond here before using other means to contact you.

As I mentioned I reported it to HP and they send an email from the escalation dept. I told that person what happened and she said nothing they can do. I said IT'S YOUR PAPER AND YOUR PHONE NUMBER. It didn't matter. Thjat's why I said I will never recommend a HP printer or buy another one from them. That is a poor attitude. '
What they need to do is put in their boxes of new products a warning that scammers can scam you and that HP does not charge for setting up a new printer. I am appalled at a large company like HP telling me too bad. And yes I have all the info from the scammers including their phone number and their names and the invoice and sent it to the escalation dept. And yet that wasn't good enough. I also contact my financial institute and paypay and nothing. This is a sad country when big companies give you the boot instead of at least giving the person half the money back if they want a good reputation!
