I have two HP printers - an HP4502 and an HP9102e. Both are visible in my Linux Mint printers utility but only the 4502 printer is visible in the HP Device Manager software. I can see the 9102 printer is running the jetdirect service on port 9100 but I can't get hplip to add it even using the manual mode with the IP address. I'd like to use the HP product as it offers more functionality than the default Linux Mint CUPS based solution. I am running Linux Mint 22.3 Zena and I have the HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.23.12) software installed. There are newer versions available but none are able to install on the current LTS support versions of Linux Mint (v22.1, 22.2 and 22.3). Can you provide guidance for resolving this gap?

Hello @e-doug, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for the detailed information and for confirming that the HP 4502 and HP 9120e are both visible in the Linux Mint printer utility, while only the 4502 appears in HP Device Manager. We understand that the HP 9120e is reachable at its IP address and responds through Jetdirect port 9100, but HPLIP 3.23.12 is unable to add it.
Since the HP 9120e already works through Linux Mint/CUPS, this appears to be specifically an HPLIP device-detection/support issue, rather than a network or printer hardware failure.
This may necessitate a one-on-one conversation to resolve the issue via remote assistance.
We recommend taking the conversation to our phone support team. They'll work with you one-on-one to get the issue sorted, possibly with some remote assistance magic.
