@printer_spooler, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP Smart app indicates that your HP ENVY 5055 printer is expired, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Internet Connection:

  • Make sure your device is connected to a stable internet connection. The HP Smart app requires internet access to communicate with HP servers.

Verify Account Details:

  • Ensure that you are logged in with the correct HP account that was used to set up the printer initially.

Update the HP Smart App:

  • Verify that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed. You can check for updates in your device's app store.

Printer Firmware Update:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Support website or through the printer's settings.

Remove and Re-add Printer:

  • In the HP Smart app, try removing the printer and then re-adding it. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and the device running the HP Smart app. This can refresh connections and resolve temporary glitches.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Access the printer's control panel and ensure there are no errors or warnings displayed. Resetting the printer itself can sometimes clear expired status.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
