I own a HP Envy Pro 6455. It is currently connected to my computer with a usb cable. It refuses to stay connected or reconnect wifi. What to install HPsmart to check ink levels.

Let's restore the network settings on the Printer:

On the back of the printer, press and hold the Wireless button for at least three seconds.

Once done, please connect the Printer to the Wi-Fi.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

I have been trying to solve my printer WIFI problem for about 9 months.. Your technicians have logged onto my computers at least four times for a total of about 10 hours. The WIFI connection is fixed for maybe one week before refusing to reconnect. I do not understand what your software problem is because my cell phone and the other devices connected to my WIFI do not have a problem with reconnecting on their own. For a while I was able to re-establish the connection myself using ho easy start. bu then I started getting mac address filtering problem. I even tried to log onto my router to see if it was causing the problem but now my computers do not recognize the router IP address. I can use my printer on my windows 8 computer and would like to install HP Smart on that computer to monitor ink levels but HP Smart refuses to install on that computer.

Do you've any other device that you can install the HP Smart App and check if it works on that?

That is interesting. I have tried to post two replies to this post and I do not see either one of them here.

I have two devices with HP Smart installed. Maybe I should talk to someone about replacing my printer or trading it in for anoyher model.

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team regarding this as this could be a hardware issue.

I have had the HP support team work on my printer WIFI problem at least three times. They fixed  my computers could connect to my printer all three times. And all three times it has failed to remain connected or reconnect to my network. That is why I use a usb cable to connect my printer to one of my computers. The problem is probably not the router. One because the router has been replaced during tiis time and two because all of my other WIFI devices have no problems connecting to my network. I thought I was connecting to HP tech support last night and they me asked if it was ok for a technician to connect to my computer to look at the problem. That seemed ok because this is what has happened before. There was no mention up front that this was a fee based service. I do not mind paying but tell me up front before I grant some one access to my computer. They said they had some sort of agreement with HP to supply this service. I do not know. I declined and knocked them off my computer. I hope they did not damage my computer.
