Hi @josie106, Welcome to HP Support Community. 👋

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Your HP ENVY Inspire 7924e printer is stuck, refusing to complete setup, and flashing the cryptic error code EBS00P0013. Frustrating, right🙁? Let’s walk through a fix that gets your printer humming🐦 again.

Perform a Power Reset:

  • Remove Cartridges: Open the printer's cartridge access door and carefully remove the ink cartridges.
  • Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Discharge Residual Power: Press and hold the printer's power button for approximately 15 seconds to discharge any residual electrical charge.
  • Reconnect Power: Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet. Ensure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet, not a surge protector.
  • Reinstall Cartridges: Once the printer powers on, reinstall the ink cartridges.

Update Printer Firmware:

Outdated firmware can lead to setup issues. Ensure your printer's firmware is current:

  • Access Firmware Update: Navigate to the printer's control panel, touch the Home button, then select "Setup" > "Printer Maintenance" > "Update the Printer."
  • Install Updates: If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

Restore Factory Defaults:

If the issue persists, resetting the printer to its factory settings may help:

  • Access Restore Option: From the printer's control panel, touch the Home button, then select "Setup" > "Printer Maintenance" > "Restore" > "Restore Factory Defaults."
  • Confirm Reset: On the confirmation prompt, touch "Continue." The printer will restart automatically.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

The HP Smart app facilitates printer setup and management. Reinstalling it can resolve potential software conflicts:

  • Uninstall Current Version: On your computer or mobile device, uninstall the HP Smart app.
  • Download Latest Version: Visit the HP Smart app download page to download and install the latest version compatible with your operating system.

Reattempt Printer Setup:

After completing the steps above, use the HP Smart app to set up your printer:

  • Open HP Smart: Launch the app on your device.
  • Add Printer: Click on "Add Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to your wireless network and complete the setup.

I hope this helps. 🖨👍

Take care and have a good day. 🙂
