i cannot find hp printer software to enable scan to computer for my hp6800 printer

My printer works, but I want to enable scanning. But I can't find my HP printer software on my computer--not under "all apps" or in the control panel under "remove programs." I have scanned the C drive with 8600 and don't find it. Where else could it be?

I started using this computer two months ago, and the printer just worked. It is attached wirelessly. It does show up in the control panel under devices and printers.

Maybe it was never installed on your system.

If you can print, it does even mean that you installed the software. 

Maybe your system is using the generic software of your printer.

If it installed, you should be able to find "HP Officejet Pro 8600 Basic Device Software" under your remove programs.

If not you need to manually install it.

By the way, what is the model name of your printer, is it 8600 or 6800?

Can you give me the FPU number / Product number thats located at the back of the printer, right around the serial number?
