Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have config'd  an iR ADV C357 for scan to email via MSFT Office365 server and the connection fails with error: 

SMTP authentication (SMTP AUTH) error. Check that [User Name], [Password], and the other settings for [SMTP Authentication (SMTP AUTH)] in Authentication/Encryption Settings are correct.

I have triple-checked everything from spelling to TLS levels, SMTP port setting, and the local firewall config'd for Office365 communications.  I can find no reason for it not to connect.  I have configured scores of HPs, Canons, Ricohs...etc.  Any ideas?
