I bought a new printer over a year ago envy 6400e, Then was able to get the printer that I had to work so never took the new one out of the box. And couldn't return it since I had it over a month. For the past 6 months I have now tried to install it on my laptop to no avail. Nothing has worked. My laptop is HP Pavilion Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz Help

To troubleshoot the installation issue with your HP ENVY 6400e printer on your HP Pavilion laptop, especially after it has been unused for over a year, follow these steps:
Check Printer Power & Connections
- Ensure the printer is plugged in and turned ON.
- If using Wi-Fi, make sure both the printer and laptop are connected to the same network.
- If using USB, try connecting to a different USB port on your laptop.
Reset the Printer
- Unplug the printer from power.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it ON.
Remove Old Printer Installations
- On your laptop, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- If the ENVY 6400e is listed, right-click it and select Remove Device.
- Also, uninstall any existing HP Smart or HP drivers from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Download & Install the Latest HP Software
- Go to HP website.
- Enter your printer model: ENVY 6400e.
- Download the latest HP Smart app or Full Feature Software.
- Install the software and restart your laptop.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Run the tool to detect and fix any issues with the printer setup.
Manually Add the Printer (If Needed)
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner.
- If it doesn't appear, select The printer that I want isn't listed and follow the on-screen steps.
Check Firewall & Antivirus
- Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software, as they may block the printer installation.
