After buying a new printer that I was excited to use - I am now held hostage to the ink cartridges depeleting quickly and now being requires to maintain a insta iink subscription?!?!?!?!
Why is this allows ns ia there any way to opt out if my cartriges are full ??? I can't print unless I have a subscription!
Does anyone want to buy a very gently used printer?
Does anyone have a solution on how to print without having a subscription?

Hi @612KingKong,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like you're encountering challenges related to the HP Instant Ink subscription service. HP Instant Ink is an optional service that helps manage and replenish your printer's ink supply automatically based on usage. However, you can still use your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer without being enrolled in the Instant Ink service. Here's how:
Opting Out of HP Instant Ink
Cancel Your Instant Ink Subscription:
- You can cancel your subscription at any time. Follow these steps to manage your HP Instant Ink account:
- Visit My Account: Go to the HP Instant Ink Account page, click Sign In, and enter your account credentials.
- Cancel Plan: Navigate to the HP Instant Ink section and select Cancel Plan under Plan Details. Confirm your cancellation.
- Return Cartridges: If you cancel the subscription, you may need to return the Instant Ink cartridges to HP and use regular cartridges.
Use Regular HP Cartridges:
- After canceling Instant Ink, ensure you are using regular HP cartridges specifically compatible with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e. You can purchase these cartridges from authorized retailers.
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure your printer is set to recognize the regular cartridges. Sometimes, re-installing the official driver from the HP website may help resolve issues related to third-party or non-Instant Ink cartridges.
Troubleshooting Steps for Non-Instant Ink Printing
Resetting the Printer:
- Sometimes, resetting the printer can help resolve issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, plug it back in, and turn it on.
Update Firmware and Software:
- Check for the latest updates for your printer’s firmware and software. Visit the HP Support page to download and install updates to ensure optimal performance.
Verify Network and Connection:
- Ensure your printer is properly connected to your network. Confirm that there are no connectivity issues which might be preventing the printer from being detected correctly.
I hope this helps.
