hi
i've been trying to resolve this issue since last week and I've been unable to find a fix
by myself, or by searching on the forum.
I'm trying to print 10x15 photos and it never worked in the past.
I fixed it after 5 years or so of not trying to print photos and it worked fine for 2 days.
to fix it I uninstalled all drivers and software regarding the printer from my pc, restarted my pc and added my printer in
win10 'settings and printers'. I was able to print photos with and without borders.
Now I'm trying to print some new photos but nothing worked again, just like before.
So, i re-tried my previous fix but it didn't work..
As you can see in the next picture, there is no option to select the photo tray.
i have also tried installing using the software and driver packages from here but the problem stays.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Thrasher6,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your printer.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
C) If the issue still persists, uninstall the printer software by following the steps from this link and restart the devices.
D) Install the printer software by clicking on the link again and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

i have tried all the steps from your reply but none worked.
the same issue remains.
however, previously it said the photo tray was not installed but now it says it is installed.
but still as you can see in the second image i am unable to select the photo tray.
it also still says : 'Paper tray was changed from Photo Tray because of a conflict with another printer setting.'
just like before.
