I have just set up the new office printer 9132e, and have tried all ways to get automatic duplex printing.

I have updated and downloaded all the drivers I can find, and yet I still do not have any duplex drivers available for selection in the printer settings.

Please help!

That does sound odd.

If not done,

Try / Consider

Add the following to your checkpoints.

Pay attention to the Driver assignment in Printer Properties.

Install the Full Driver Printer Software -- this is the foundation and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences.

Duplex Printing is supported on select paper sizes and types.  Load the paper you expect to use according to the instructions in the user guide.

)  Alert the printer to your loaded paper -- Tray and Paper

)  Check / Correct the Driver selection in Printer Properties -- The Driver (in Tab Advanced) should be pointing to the installed HP driver and not the IPP / Microsoft drivers.

)  Check the list of Printing Preferences -- Amongst the templates (standard shortcuts), look for a Shortcut that includes the "Duplex" setting.  Optionally create a Custom Shortcut → Save the new Shortcut → Exit Printing Preferences leaving that new shortcut selected as the "Preferred" choice.

)  Check your Job Configuration -- that is, open the application or software you are using to print the document -- Select More, Properties, More Settings, or similar → Check / Select the Shortcut you want to use with the current job → When ready, Print

Printer Software - Full Driver

Reinstall the full driver printer software

-- Note --

If you do not want / need the added information, Scroll down to Web Pack Installation

Details / How-to / Examples

Check / Apply Windows Updates

  • Check / Install any pending Windows Updates
  • If any updates are applied in Windows Updates, Restart your computer and log in

Next,

Uninstall existing printer software

  • Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
  • If your printer software includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
  • Restart the computer and log in.

Install full driver printer software

  • If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

Web Pack Installation - Open Web Page - Full Driver Printer Software

HP OfficeJet Pro 9130 series EasyStart Printer Setup Software - Offline Use Only

  • Open the Web Page
  • Download, Save, and Install the software.
  • If using a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer, connect the cable when instructed to do so, near the end of the software installation process.
  • After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Short Version Done here

HP Universal Scan Software - Optional

Separately -- Supported on this printer and Windows 11

Installation of the HP Universal Scan Software adds an "HP Scan" self-named shortcut icon to the Desktop.

NOTE

If you have installed the full driver printer software,

And

If the HP Scan that is installed is the "new format" (larger GUI and new layout),

Then

In general, you perhaps do not need to install HP Universal Scan -- the version of HP Scan that installs with the software for this printer is a functional match to the HP Universal Software.

That said, if you can't stand it for any reason, the system will tolerate installing both the full driver and the HP Universal Scan software.

HP Universal Scan Software

Printer Model and Operating System version Dependent >>

When the software is installed, HP Universal Scan Software adds a self-named HP Scan software shortcut to the Desktop.

Note

Where supported, HPUSS can be installed as standalone or installed after the full feature / full solution printer software.

Open website  HP Universal Scan Full Feature Software

If needful, choose a different OS > Open all

Find / Download / Save / Install HP Universal Scan – Full Feature Software and Driver Webpack

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

Amazing, thank you

"Check / Correct the Driver selection in Printer Properties -- The Driver (in Tab Advanced) should be pointing to the installed HP driver and not the IPP / Microsoft drivers. "

This is the bit I had missed, and have now changed. All working as it should now.

@Perdition

You are most welcome.

The setting is easily missed -- Windows normally stays out of the way of installed drivers.

Happy Printing!
