Im running Windows 10 64 biut, all latest patches as of today. Never had a PC problem with fabulous Windows 10.

I have reloaded all the HP printer PC software today, as well as checked if printer has latest firmware, yes it does

I rebooted the PC

I restarted the printer

PING can see printer, its on a wired network

I have disabled IPv6

This is the most expensive device interms of my time I have ever owned, and strongly recommned NOT ever buying another HP printer .. its unaffordable

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you ensure the following:

Install Windows update KB3147458 (Windows 10 only)

Microsoft released a cumulative update for Windows 10 that helps improve discoverability of printers when a device resumes from sleep mode. This update can help prevent occurrences of your printer going offline, especially for wireless connections.
Search Windows for Windows Update, and then click Windows Update in the list of results.
Click Check Updates to make sure all critical and important Windows updates are up to date.
NOTE: To manually download the update, go to KB3147458 on Microsoft’s website Non-HP site (in English).
Restart the computer, and then try to print again.
If you can print, the printer is online again

Hope that helps!

Ok .. here is where I am at with this HP Printer GOES OFF LINE problem:

Reset printer back to factory settings

Test printing from my iPad .. works perfectly .. almost every time .. luv this feature ..

Removed everyting from PC Windows 10 64 Bit related to HP printer as instructed

Scanned entire compter using Symantec AV etc no virusues found

Reboot computer

Check if any Windows Updates .. none ...

Downloaded and installed HP Printer software installation package

PING the printer on network .. itc omes back immedialty .. on the same network .. sounding good so far ...

Start to install HP package as instructed

When it comes and CONNETCION OPTIONS .. (I am wired) so i tell it that ..

installer come sback and say CONNECT PRINTER TO ROUTER (DLINK witrh latest updates and patches) ... and always works for everyting else including internet, ipads, iphones etc

Next installer says "UNABLE TO FIND PRINTER" .... Yikes I just PINGED IT and did a PING again so my mind is not seeing things .. YIKES its on my network

It asks me to enter my printer IP 192.168.0.114 .. and search .. .in an instant .. says the same thing over and over again

Also tried entering the HP NAME HP..... same as above

Perhaps its JUNK time for my 2 year old HP printer .. or am i missing something here ..

HELP !!!!!!

Hi @geoffrlz

Thanks for the feedback.

Not sure if the DLink router is "blocking" the printer.

Can you check if there is any Firmware updates for both the DLink and HP Printer?

The HP Printer has a Firmware update back in Mar 2016 with the following enahancements :

Fix and enhancements

  1. Compatibilities enhancement on "Scan to network folder"
  2. WPA2 security support enhancements
  3. Protected Management Frame support enhancements
  4. Support TLS 1.1, 1.2
  5. Wireless and wired network support enhancements
  6. Embedded web server support enhancements

One quick way to check if the router is the "Culprit" would be to try connecting using a Hotspot with your Mobile phone (NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE MOBILE DATA CHARGES)

How to Print and Scan after changing router

Hope that helps!
