Hi @tofttor,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer not scanning over Wi-Fi!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check Network Connection

  • Ensure that both your printer and your computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart your printer and router to refresh the network connection.

2. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Go to the HP Support website.
  2. Enter your printer model (HP Photosmart 5520) and select the appropriate product.
  3. Navigate to the "Software, Drivers and Firmware" section.
  4. Download and install the latest firmware for your printer.

3. Check Printer Status

  • Ensure that your printer is powered on and displays a ready status.
  • From the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings to confirm that Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to your network.

4. Reinstall Printer Software

  1. Uninstall the current printer software from your computer.
  2. Download the latest version of the printer software from the HP Support website.
  3. Follow the installation instructions and choose the wireless setup option.

5. Verify Firewall and Antivirus Settings

  • Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer communication.
  • Temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus and try scanning again.

6. Reset Network Settings

  1. From the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless -> Settings.
  2. Select "Restore Network Settings" and confirm.
  3. Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.
