@NP798, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Fixing Communication Issues between HP Printer and HP Computer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP printer and HP computer are not communicating properly, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

1. Check Connections:

  • For Wired Printers: Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • For Wireless Printers: Confirm that both the printer and the computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Restart Devices:

  • Restart both the printer and the computer. This can resolve temporary communication issues.

3. Update Drivers:

  • Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP printer. You can use the HP Support Assistant to check and install updates.
  • Steps to use HP Support Assistant:
    1. Open HP Support Assistant from the Start menu.
    2. Click on the “My devices” tab.
    3. Select your printer from the list and check for driver updates.

4. Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on and there are no error messages displayed on the printer screen.
  • Verify that the printer is set as the default printer on your computer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
