Hi @terrybm39,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a connection issue
Let's troubleshoot your HP DeskJet 2710 All-In-One Printer connectivity issues:
1. Check USB Connection
- Cable and Ports: Make sure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer. Try using a different USB port on your computer or a different USB cable if available.
- Printer Driver: Ensure that the printer driver is correctly installed. You can download the latest driver from the HP Support website.
2. Check Wi-Fi Connection
- Printer Network Settings: On the printer, navigate to the wireless settings menu. Ensure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconnect to the network if it's not showing as connected.
- Router Issues: Restart your router and make sure it's working properly. Sometimes, connectivity issues can be resolved by simply restarting your network equipment.
- Network Configuration: Ensure that your computer and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network. If your network has multiple bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure both devices are connected to the same band.
3. Run HP Printer Troubleshooter
- Windows Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Printer and run the troubleshooter. It can help identify and fix common issues with the printer.
4. Reset Printer
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
5. Reinstall Printer
- Remove and Reinstall: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove device. Then, reinstall the printer by following the setup instructions that came with your printer or by using the HP Smart app.
