Hi @LoriARNP,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Having to reboot your printer daily due to it being offline can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check Connections: Ensure that all cables connecting your printer to the computer or network are securely plugged in. If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that the signal strength is strong.

Restart Printer: Instead of a full reboot, try simply turning off the printer, waiting for a few minutes, and then turning it back on. Sometimes this can resolve temporary connectivity issues.

Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve bugs and improve overall performance.

Check Printer Settings: Make sure that the printer is set to online mode. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel or by accessing the printer's settings through a web browser.

Restart Print Spooler: Sometimes the print spooler service on your computer can get stuck, causing connectivity issues with the printer. Try restarting the print spooler service:

  • For Windows: Open the Services application, locate the Print Spooler service, right-click on it, and select Restart.
  • For Mac: Open System Preferences, go to Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click on the minus (-) button to remove it. Then click on the plus (+) button to re-add the printer.

Check for IP Address Conflicts: Ensure that there are no other devices on your network using the same IP address as your printer. If there is a conflict, assign a static IP address to the printer to avoid conflicts.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue of your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw frequently going offline without the need for daily reboots.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
