Hi @beginner101,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to set up your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw printer on Windows 10 IoT involves a few steps, including installing the necessary drivers. Here's a guide to help you through the process:
Download the Latest Drivers: Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. You can usually find the drivers by searching for your printer model and selecting the appropriate operating system (in your case, Windows 10 IoT).
Install the Drivers: Once downloaded, run the driver installation file. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process. Make sure to connect your printer to your computer via USB during the installation if prompted. HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw Software and Driver
Connect to Wi-Fi (Optional): If you want to use your printer wirelessly, you'll need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless settings and follow the prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network. You may need to enter your network's SSID and password.
Add the Printer: After the drivers are installed, you'll need to add the printer to your Windows 10 IoT device. Here's how:
- Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners".
- Click on "Add a printer or scanner".
- Windows will search for available printers. If your printer is detected, select it from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
- If your printer is not automatically detected, you may need to select "The printer that I want isn't listed" and follow the prompts to manually add the printer using its IP address or hostname.
Test the Printer: Once the printer is added, try printing a test page to make sure everything is working correctly. You can do this by right-clicking on the printer in the "Printers & scanners" settings and selecting "Printer properties" > "Print Test Page".
