my printer will light up in the middle of the night. It is in my bedroom and it is disturbing. What can I do to get it to not turn on other than shut it down each night.

Make sure the printer is connected to a secure network.
Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, check for any software updates on MAC
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Check sleep mode settings
1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, touch the leaf icon.
2. Touch Sleep Mode, and then touch the desired option.
3. Set it to 15 minutes.
