New Deskjet 2734e, how to set up with set up cartridges

Hi @jo5-0,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP DeskJet 2734e is designed to be set up with the included setup cartridges, which are specifically used to initialize the printer and get it ready for regular use. If you're trying to set it up without the setup cartridges, it may be difficult to proceed as the printer will not function properly without them.

However, if you have set up cartridges and need instructions for that, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up your HP DeskJet 2734e with those cartridges:

Setting Up the HP DeskJet 2734e with Setup Cartridges:

Unbox and Set Up Printer Hardware:

  • Remove all packaging materials, including any tape and protective covers.
  • Place the printer on a flat surface, ensuring it’s near a power outlet and connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Install the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the setup ink cartridges from the packaging (make sure to remove the protective plastic tape from the cartridges).
  • Insert the black cartridge into the left slot and the color cartridge into the right slot. Press them in until they click into place.
  • Close the ink cartridge access door.

Load Paper into the Input Tray:

  • Slide the paper input tray open and load a stack of plain, white paper into it.
  • Adjust the paper width guides to fit the size of the paper you’re using.

Turn on the Printer:

  • Plug the printer into an electrical outlet and turn it on by pressing the power button.

Follow On-Screen Instructions:

  • The printer may go through a short initialization process (printing alignment pages or other setup steps). Follow the on-screen instructions for any prompts that appear.

Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • If you haven’t already connected the printer to your Wi-Fi network, you can either use the printer’s display to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password, or you can set it up via the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.

Install Printer Software:

  • Install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. This app will guide you through the rest of the setup process, including connecting the printer to your network and installing the necessary drivers.
  • Alternatively, you can visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers and software for your printer.

I hope this helps.
