macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Trying to setup a new HP Smart Tank 7300 series printer.  Printer will not print in color using my MacBook Pro.  It will print in color using my iPhone.  Any suggestions?

Ah, the classic "Mac says no, but iPhone says yes" printer dilemma! 😅 Since your HP Smart Tank 7300 prints in color from your iPhone but not from your MacBook Pro, we know the printer itself is fine, and the issue is with the Mac's settings or drivers. Let’s troubleshoot this step by step:

 

Try these steps in order from your Mac:

Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
  • Restart your computer to ensure there are no pending software issues.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Install Easy start
