@Abinjose, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Setting Up Your HP ENVY 6100e Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're encountering an error while setting up your new HP ENVY 6100e printer, here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve common setup issues:

1. Check Network Connection

  • Wi-Fi Setup: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly. Make sure the printer is within range of the Wi-Fi signal.
  • Reset Wi-Fi Settings: During initial setup, verify that the Wi-Fi light is blinking. If not, reset the setup mode on the printer. Go to the control panel and select “Resume Setup” if prompted.
  • VPN or Ethernet Restrictions: Make sure that your computer or mobile device isn't connected to a VPN during setup and that Wi-Fi is enabled on your computer.

2. HP Software Installation

  • Download HP Software: Visit hp.com/start/envy6100 to download and install the recommended software, which will assist in connecting your printer to the Wi-Fi network.

3. Printer Setup Process

  • Follow On-Screen Instructions: Use the HP software to follow the on-screen instructions for setting up the printer. Make sure to choose the correct connection type (Wi-Fi or USB).
  • Initialize the Printer: Ensure that the printer is powered on and any required printer prompts are addressed.

4. Troubleshoot Connection Errors

  • Reset Network Settings: If encountering connection issues, try restoring the printer’s network settings. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Network, and select "Restore Network Settings."
  • Check the Wireless Credentials: Re-enter the correct Wi-Fi password on the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
