@Tizzycat, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "Unable to print. Rendering failed" typically indicates a communication or driver issue between your computer and the printer. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

Restart Devices

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Use HP Smart Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • If you're using Windows or macOS, open the HP Smart app.
  • Go to "Printer Settings" > "Advanced Settings" > "Diagnose & Fix".
  • Let the tool scan and automatically fix common issues.

Check Print Spooler Service (Windows only)

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
  • Try printing again.

Try Printing from Another App or Device

  • This helps isolate whether the issue is with the printer or the specific app you're printing from.

Firmware Update

  • Outdated firmware can cause rendering issues.
  • Visit the HP support page and enter your printer model to check for updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
