@hdocdon, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If you're experiencing a "No Scan Options" message on your HP printer when trying to scan, you can try these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Restart the Computer and Printer
- Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
- Close all running programs on your computer, and then restart the computer.
- Wait for 30 seconds, and then turn the printer back on.
2. Check the HP Digital Imaging Monitor (DIM)
- Search for and open c:\Program Files (x86)\HP\digital imaging\bin.
- Locate and double-click hpqste08.exe to ensure it is running.
- Right-click hpqste08.exe, and select Create shortcut. A shortcut will appear in the bin folder.
- Open shell:common startup and press Enter to open the Startup window.
- Drag the hpqste08.exe shortcut from the bin window to the Startup window.
- Restart the computer.
3. Uninstall HP Print Driver and Use HP Smart
- Disconnect any USB cables from the printer.
- Open Add or remove programs from Windows.
- Locate your HP printer in the list of programs.
- If found, click on the printer name and select Uninstall.
- If not found, search for and open Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click Remove device.
- If prompted by a User Account Control message, click Yes.
- Follow instructions to complete the software removal, and then restart the computer.
- Download and install HP Smart from 123.hp.com.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
