Hi @mjhnica,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the HP Easy Start software isn't detecting the necessary drivers for your HP Officejet 6700 Premium on your Mac running Sequoia 15.0 (macOS Sonoma).

Here's how you can proceed.

Download Drivers Manually

  • Go to the HP support page for the Officejet 6700 Premium.
  • Search for your printer model and navigate to the Drivers and Software section.
  • If macOS 15.0 (Sonoma) isn’t listed, try selecting an earlier macOS version like 14.x (Ventura). The drivers for the previous version often work for newer macOS versions.

Install HP Printer Drivers via Apple

Apple provides generic HP drivers via the macOS system. Here's how you can use them:

  • Open System Settings on your Mac.
  • Click on Printers & Scanners.
  • Select the + icon to add a printer.
  • Your Officejet 6700 should appear in the list of available printers. If not, ensure it's connected via USB or network.
  • Select it, and macOS will download and install the required software automatically.

Use AirPrint (if supported)

If drivers aren't available for macOS Sonoma yet, try using AirPrint, which allows you to print without additional software:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
  • Add the printer using Printers & Scanners > + icon > select AirPrint from the Use dropdown.

Reset Printing System

Sometimes resetting the printing system can resolve issues:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or control-click) in the list of printers and choose Reset printing system.
  • Re-add your printer and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have the same problem with the Deskjet 2320 all-in-one printer.

I am launching HP Easy Start for macOS 14 Sonoma since there is no version for Sequoia 15.

The application sees my printer, but I get the same error that the system could not find the software.

When you try to add a printer manually through the settings with the proposed default driver, the printer appears in the system but nothing happens when sending it to print, although the print manager reports that everything is in order and there are no documents in the queue

I am having the same issue with my LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175 printer.

I just got a new M4 Mac Mini, running macOS 15.1.   Unable to install the HP driver using the latest HP Easy Start (version 2.14.0.231016 published Oct 31, 2023) because of the lack of macOS 15 support.    This worked fine on an older Macbook running macOS 14, which I subsequently upgraded to macOS 15 and the driver works fine.   It's not an option on new M4 Mac Mini, which can only run macOS 15.

HP doesn't publish "manual" macOS drivers for LaserJet Pro 100 - the only Driver option available for download is Easy Start utility, which doesn't work with latest macOS 15.

So what do I do here?   When will HP be updating Easy Start with macOS 15 support?   Or where can I download full drivers for LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175 printer, which I can install outside of Easy Start??

I just updated Sequioa to 15.1.1

Now HP Easy Start recognized the Printer and installed fine.
I downloaded easy Start here:

Seems to be the most current Version
