Hi @show0116,

I understand your user encounters an error involving splwow64.exe when printing Adobe documents generated by a customized program, and the job does not reach the print server or printer. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Understand what the error indicates

splwow64.exe is a Windows print subsystem component used when 32-bit applications print on 64-bit Windows.

Errors usually point to a driver conflict, corrupted print component, or malformed print data.

Restart the Print Spooler service

Open Windows Services and restart Print Spooler.

This clears stuck or crashed print processes related to splwow64.exe.

Test printing from a standard Adobe PDF

Have the user print a normal PDF created by Adobe Acrobat or another standard source.

If this prints successfully, the issue is likely related to the customized program’s PDF output.

Update or reinstall the printer driver

Remove the printer from Devices and Printers.

Restart the computer.

Install the latest full-feature or recommended driver for the printer model.

Avoid using generic or very old drivers.

Change the printer driver type

If currently using a Type 3 (legacy) driver, switch to a Type 4 or newer PCL/PS driver if available.

splwow64.exe errors are commonly associated with older Type 3 drivers.

Disable advanced printing features

Open Printer Properties → Advanced tab.

Uncheck Enable advanced printing features.

Apply the change and test printing again.

This forces Windows to process the job in a simpler print path.

Print as image from Adobe

In Adobe Reader, open Print → Advanced.

Enable Print as Image and try printing.

This bypasses complex vector data that may be triggering the crash.

Check Adobe Reader version

Ensure Adobe Reader is fully up to date.

If already updated, test by rolling back to a known stable version for comparison.

I hope this helps.
