The hp print and scan doctor 5.6.1 requires me to have administrator rights, even though I am already logged in as an administrator. The message also comes when I run the hppsd explicitly "as administrator". I used to have no problem running the hppsd! I would be grateful for a suggested solution to the problem.

Hi Müx

after a lot of other posts ...

the new version 5.6.2.008 works well.

you can mark to solved.

But the problem to install the new HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 wide AIO is still not solved. (fails at the end of setup and then "no driver available" is written to the printer in the Device-List.

@müx, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

HP Print and Scan Doctor is a diagnostics tool. Do you have any issues with the printer?

Do you have an HP account?

You may use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win 10 PC

Click here to download and know more about the app.

Keep me posted.

@kumar0307, Hello again!

I have no problem printing, I just wanted to diagnose my printer. After starting the Print and Scan Doctor, I was asked to install the new version 5.6.1. However, this does not work. The message "You need administrator rights for this tool. Log in as administrator and start the tool again." As already described, it doesn't help if I log in with the administrator account. In contrast, the old Print and Scan Doctor version 5.6.0.012 works without any problems. I don't know what additional options version 5.6.1 offers. Since it doesn't work, I'll stick with the old one. Anyway, thanks for your support.

Best regards from Austria, müx
