HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Does anyone else have this problem. When my printer loses connection to my PC (as it often does) and I have to reset the connection,  the power button doesn't work - so I have to unplug it! I find this weird.

@noggin078, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Power Button Issues on HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP ENVY 6020e printer frequently loses connection to your PC and the power button doesn't work when trying to reset the connection, you can follow these troubleshooting steps:

Verify the Power Source:

  • Ensure that the printer is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  • Try plugging the printer into a different power outlet.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure you have the latest firmware installed on your printer. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or the HP website.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back into the power source.
  • Turn on the printer using the power button.

Reconfigure Network Settings:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your PC.
  • Reconfigure the network settings through the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app to ensure stable connection.

Check Printer Settings:

  • At the printer’s front panel, select the network icon, then make sure IP is enabled for the type of connection used.
  • Ensure that 'Allow EWS' (Embedded Web Server) is enabled.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
