@DUSSELL, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Driver Update Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP printer is not functioning properly and you are seeing messages about outdated or incorrectly configured printer drivers, here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and update the printer driver.

Step 1: Verify the Printer Connection

Ensure that your printer is correctly connected to your computer. Check both the physical connections (USB or network cables) and the network configuration (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).

Step 2: Use the HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant is a useful tool to manage your HP devices, including updating drivers. Follow these steps to update your drivers using HP Support Assistant:

Open HP Support Assistant:

Run the Update:

  • Click on the "Updates" tab.
  • Click "Check for updates and messages".
  • HP Support Assistant will check for available updates and notify you. Make sure the checkbox next to each update is selected, then click "Apply".

Follow On-screen Instructions:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the updates.

Step 3: Download and Install the HP Printer Driver Manually

If the HP Support Assistant does not find the driver, you can manually download and install it from the HP website:

Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page:

Identify Your Printer:

  • Enter your printer's model number in the search field and click "Submit".
  • Select your operating system if required.

Download and Install:

  • Find the appropriate driver under the "Driver-Printer Install Wizard" or similar section.
  • Click "Download".
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
