Appreciate the help.  I followed all of the suggested links but found no software update for my 1109w LaserJet printer.  I was able to use the printer from my Lenovo, but after the recent update, I get the message that I am using an 'incompatible cartridge.'  I am not using an HP cartridge for this printer...Any more suggestions would be appreciated..

Hi lg509,

Thank you for your response!

Please try the steps in this guide, 'Install Black Cartridge' Displays. If this does not work try replacing the non-HP cartridge for a Genuine HP cartridge. As we cannot guarantee that non-HP cartridges will work.

If the Genuine HP cartridge still does not work, contact HP phone support for your hardware options. (After you fill out the information, you will be given a phone number.) If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.

If this helps, please consider clicking on 'accept as solution.' And, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Hope this post helps! 🙂

Hello lg,

The answer to your question is    No,  HP does not have any driver update which would allow you to use Non-HP toner.  It is always better to use genuine HP toner which would help in smooth functioning of the printer, rather than invite mechanical problems by using a Non HP ink toner.

Thanking you for choosing HP,

Regards,

Ashok
