@MarkL6, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer Series (A910) is AirPrint compatible. However, there are no drivers available for this printer on the HP Support site to work on macOS 11.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, check for any software updates on MAC
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Install the printer using AirPrint driver
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
Note: Use Bonjour multifucntion.
6.) Try to print and scan.
Refer to this document to know how to scan.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Glad to know that the issue is now resolved. I suggest using the printer via AirPrint driver. I'm not sure if there will be a driver released to work on macOS 11.
If you want to use the HP Smart app, check for any pending updates on the app
Go to App Store > search for HP Smart > you will see an 'update' option if updates are available. Else, it would say 'open'. You may also try reinstalling the app from the App store.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.

I am having the same issue - my HP ENVY Photo 7858 running OS 11.1 won't print. When I send a print job to the printer, it makes all the usual noises and spits out a blank page. I have checked for firmware updates - none. My OS is updated. I have removed the printer from the queue twice and reinstalled it using the AirPrint option. Nothing.
I just visited an Apple forum that included a fix, but that didn't help, either.
What do you think of this one: https://printerdrivers.com/hp-envy-photo-7858-driver/ I could try it next.
This printer is becoming a big old paperweight, and it's not very old! Very disappointed that HP hasn't issued a successful driver.

I'm stumped. I've done all of the steps you outlined, and my printer makes a noise like it's going to print but then spits out a blank sheet of paper. It printed the "test" paper, though.
I removed and reinstalled it using AirPrint, doesn't help.
I have the HP ENVY Photo 7858, running OS 11.1.
Any other ideas?

Hello Kumar0307- I hope you will also be able to help me.
I am a long-time HP printer user and have an HP3030 J611. However, this does not work with my new Mac Book Pro on Big Sur. It's a good printer and I have some spare ink jet cartridges. I want to go on using it - I don't want to throw it away. It worked fine on my old MBP (High Sierra). HP - please do not abandon your faithful customers!
