@rlso, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Network Connection Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP printer is displaying an error message with a flashing "E" and the information button, this typically indicates a network-related error. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Steps to Troubleshoot Network Connection Error

Restart Printer and Network Devices: Turn off and unplug your printer, router, and any other network devices. Wait for 10 seconds, then plug in and power on your router and wait for it to fully start up. Finally, plug in and turn on the printer.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure Wireless Network is Enabled: Make sure your printer's wireless network feature is turned on. This can typically be done from the printer’s control panel.
  • Reset Network Settings: If the printer is still flashing the error, reset the printer's network settings to resolve any configuration issues. Refer to your printer manual for detailed steps on how to reset network settings.

Verify Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network and there are no obstructions (like walls or furniture) affecting the signal.
  • Check that your Wi-Fi network is working properly by connecting other devices to the network.

Run Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • Access the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer’s control panel to reconfigure the network settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. Use the app to help set up and troubleshoot the printer network connection.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
