Hi @franksquared,

 I'd like to help!

To better assist you -

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

While you respond to that, let's print a Self-test page -

Device control panel: Press Setup, select Print Report, select Self-Test, and then press OK.

Post the Self-test page here so we can help you further.

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer - Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors Issue

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Been there, done that... covered all the same ground multiple times. All I want to do is make the printed copy darker than it is now, no more no less than that. Any suggestions ?

HP Recommended

Change the print quality setting from draft to best and check if that helps.

Refer to the doc for instructions-Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

Hope this helps!

Keep me posted!

I have been to this site and tried to locate the settings, to no avail, but read that some settings and options are not available and I have been unable to see if the J4500 falls into this category. In short, I have been unable to find a simple way to darken the print quality, to be blunt, I have not even found a complex way to darken the print quality.

However, I do appreciate your help.

Thanks

Where you able to find the print quality setting on your computer?

Are the printer drivers installed on the computer?

If not, please install the drivers from here

Hope this helps!

Keep me posted!

I have done this download many times and all I get is 'do I want more HP Stuff'... If I am doing anything wrong let me know, if I can't make the print darker, please let me know that also. I have learned to live with disappointment.

Thank you in advance.

Open the document you want to print and click on printer settings, take a picture of that screen and share it, please.
