Hello, My printer has stopped showing up as an option when I go to print. I have restarted, checked app updates and all are up to date.

Hi @kar12382,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your printer is no longer showing up as an option when you try to print. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the printer power and connection
Make sure the printer is powered on and shows no error lights.
If it’s a wireless printer, confirm it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the computer.

Restart the printer and computer
Turn off the printer and fully shut down the computer.
Turn the printer on first, wait 30 seconds, then start the computer.

Verify the printer is installed in system settings
Open Settings > Printers & scanners on your computer.
Check if the printer appears in the list; if not, select Add printer or scanner.

Set the printer as the default
If the printer appears but isn’t selectable, click on it and choose Set as default.
This prevents the system from sending jobs to another device or virtual printer.

Check printer status
Select the printer in Printers & scanners and confirm it shows Ready or Idle.
If it shows Offline, remove the printer and add it again.

Restart the print spooler service
Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Restart the Print Spooler service to clear stalled print detection.

Reopen the app and test printing
Close the application you are printing from and reopen it.
Try printing a simple test page or document to confirm the printer appears.

I hope this helps.
