@angry69, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Offline Printer Issues on HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When your HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer shows an offline status on a Mac using macOS Sequoia, it can be related to connectivity issues or incorrect settings. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer and Network Connection
- Ensure the Printer is Powered On: Make sure the printer is turned on and there are no error messages displayed on the printer's control panel.
- Check Wi-Fi Connection: Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac. You can verify this from the printer’s control panel by navigating to the network settings.
- Network Reboot: Restart your router by turning it off and on again to refresh the network connection.
2. Verify Printer Online Status on Mac
- Go to System Preferences: Open the Apple menu and select System Preferences, then select Printers & Scanners.
- Check the Printer List: Make sure your HP Officejet Pro 8620 is listed.
- Set Printer Online: If your printer shows “Offline”, right-click the printer and select Set Online.
3. Reset Printing System
- Reset Printer System: This step can solve many problems, including connectivity issues.
- Open Printers & Scanners in System Preferences.
- Right-click (or Ctrl+click) the printer list and choose Reset printing system.
- Confirm reset, which removes all current printers and scanners from your Mac.
- Add Printer Again: Click the + button to add your HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer again.
4. Use HP Smart App for Printer Setup
- Open HP Smart App: Ensure you have installed the HP Smart app. Open it on your Mac.
- Add Printer: Follow the on-screen instructions to re-add your printer to the HP Smart app. Ensure your printer is connected to the network properly and that the app can communicate with the printer.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
