@Priorityprint2, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP DeskJet 2855e All-in-One Printer is displaying an "Out of Paper" message, but there is paper loaded, follow these steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

Step 1: Load New Paper

Ensure that you are using fresh, quality paper as paper that has absorbed moisture can curl or lift, preventing proper feeding.

  1. Remove any paper from the input tray.
  2. Raise the input tray if it is not already raised.
  3. Stack around 25 sheets of new plain paper, and align the edges on a flat surface.
  4. Load the stack of paper into the input tray.
  5. Adjust the paper width guide against the edge of the paper, ensuring it is not too tight.

Step 2: Remove Any Loose Objects

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Check for any loose paper, debris, or foreign objects in the input tray area using a flashlight, and remove them.
  3. Locate the paper pick rollers through the input tray and remove any foreign objects or debris.

Step 3: Clean Paper Pick Rollers

Dust and debris might accumulate on the rollers, causing feeding issues.

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Locate the gray paper pick rollers through the open input tray.
  3. Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water and clean the rollers by pressing the cloth against them while rotating with your fingers.
  4. Allow the rollers to dry completely.

Step 4: Reset the Printer

Resetting the printer can help resolve some issues:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the printer while it's powered on.
  2. Disconnect the cord from its power source and wait for 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
