Hi @Rigo7,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to set up your HP Officejet Pro 8725 printer to print pictures on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper without getting jams, follow these step-by-step instructions:

Step 1: Check Paper Type Compatibility

Ensure that HP Premium Plus Photo Paper is compatible with your printer. This printer supports various paper types, including photo paper.

Step 2: Load the Paper Correctly

Remove any previously loaded paper:

  • Open the paper tray and remove any other paper types.
  • Check for any paper jams and clear them if necessary.

Prepare the photo paper:

  • Fan the stack of photo paper to prevent sticking.
  • Align the edges of the stack.

Load the photo paper:

  • Insert the photo paper into the paper tray with the glossy side facing down (print side down).
  • Adjust the paper width guides so that they fit snugly against the edges of the paper.
  • Ensure the paper is loaded properly and not exceeding the maximum capacity indicated on the tray.

Step 3: Adjust Printer Settings

Open Printer Settings on Windows 11:

  • Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
  • Go to Devices and then Printers & scanners.
  • Select your HP Officejet Pro 8725 from the list and click on Manage.
  • Click on Printing preferences.

Set the Paper Type and Quality:

  • In the Printing Preferences window, go to the Paper/Quality tab.
  • Select Photo Paper as the paper type.
  • Choose HP Premium Plus Photo Paper from the list.
  • Set the print quality to Best for the highest quality photos.

Select the Correct Paper Size:

  • Ensure the paper size matches the photo paper size you are using (e.g., 4x6 inches, 5x7 inches, etc.).

Check the Layout and Other Settings:

  • Go to the Layout tab and choose the desired layout (e.g., borderless printing if needed).
  • Adjust any other settings as required for your print job.

Step 4: Perform a Test Print

Open a photo to print:

  • Open the photo you want to print using your preferred photo viewing or editing software.

Print the photo:

  • Click on File and then Print.
  • Ensure your HP Officejet Pro 8725 is selected as the printer.
  • Click on Printer Properties or Preferences and verify that the settings match those configured earlier.
  • Click Print.

Step 5: Troubleshooting Paper Jams

If you still experience paper jams, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Check for Obstructions:

  • Open the printer cover and remove any visible obstructions or paper pieces.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect the paper path for any stuck paper.

Clean the Rollers:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Open the printer and locate the paper rollers.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers. Rotate the rollers manually to clean the entire surface.

Reload the Paper:

  • Ensure the photo paper is loaded correctly, and the paper guides are snug but not too tight.
  • Avoid overloading the paper tray.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can resolve compatibility and performance issues.
